The Family Farm Tax explained
What the Government is doing, and why we're opposing it.
Cornwall is in danger of becoming a ‘Wild West’ of speculative development, which will leave young families and first time buyers locked out, Truro and Falmouth Lib Dems have warned.
The government has increased the target of new houses in Cornwall from 2,707 to 4,421 - every year.
Lib Dem campaigners have warned that this will lead to a ‘Developer’s Charter' that only benefits big housebuilding companies.
Ruth Gripper, the Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson for Truro and Falmouth. is calling for a change to the rules to ensure that central housing targets are only for affordable homes for local families - not second home owners or AirBnB speculators.
She said: "We need targets for affordable homes - not general housebuilding targets that will damage our environment and only benefit property investors and housebuilding giants.
“I am urging people to sign the Lib Dem petition calling on the government to make its target about affordable homes only. Please join us by signing it today.”
