TERRYE CAMPAIGNS ABOUT PARKING ON ROADS AROUND TRELISKE HOSPITAL

Terrye Teverson, Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Truro and Falmouth, has started a survey to find out about parking problems in the roads around Treliske Hospital in Truro.
Mrs Teverson said, "People living in roads like College Way and Tresawls Avenue in the Gloweth area have told me the difficulties they have with parked cars in their road. They appear to be mostly from people either working in or visiting Treliske hospital. Parking in Truro is difficult at the best of times but this causes additional problems."
Mrs Teverson has this week launched a leaflet which is being distributed to homes in the affected areas asking for residents' comments which will be put to the managers at the hospital.
Mrs Teverson commented, "I am already in touch with managers at the hospital about the parking charges. Currently you have to pay £1.70 for a 2 hour stay. There is no other choice. I want to see ½ hr and hourly charges of 50p and £1 respectively. Many people either can't find a space to park or object to the cost. This makes it really difficult for the people who live in these streets as often they can't even get in their own drives. If they have visitors to see them there is no-where for them to park."
