Carrick Fair 'Great Success'

Terrye and supporters back NHS
The Carrick Liberal Democrat Fair drew the crowds on Saturday to the beautifully refurbished Gyllyngdune Gardens in Falmouth, with a variety of stalls offering a selection of books, plants, cakes and delicious organic, homemade jams.
"The sale of sunglasses was disappointing," commented event organizer Nan Hurst "but it was good to see so many members of the public and fortunately the rain held off and we raised over £400."
The fair also provided the opportunity for Terrye Teverson, the newly selected parliamentary candidate for Truro and Falmouth, to step up the Liberal Democrat campaign against cuts to our local NHS by launching the 'SOS for the NHS' petition that will be presented to Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Commenting on the event Terrye said:
"It was a pleasure to see so many members and activists on Saturday and to meet people from Falmouth, Truro and the surrounding area.
"We received a fantastic response to our petition. It's clear that the people of Truro and Falmouth want to see an end to the wasteful micro-management and botched reforms of our health service and want to see a stop to the savage cuts that are being made to our local NHS."
Anna Brown, the new Lib Dem organizer for the constituency, recently back from working at the Ealing and Southall by-election enjoyed the day saying:
"It was lovely being back in Cornwall and being part of such a vibrant event."
